Kuala Lumpur, 7 October – Malaysian engineer Syahril Mispardi ‘Warrior’ (26 year old – pictured right) has once again clinched the title as the Champion for the console game – FIFA at last weekend’s final playoff for the Electronic Sports World Cup 2012 Malaysia held alongside FEYST12 free concert at Kreatif Malaysia, Panggung Anniversari, Taman Botani Perdana.

‘Warrior’ was the champion for the game in 2010 and represented Malaysia in Paris Games Week in Disneyland then. He will head to Paris Games Week once more this 1-4 November to defend last year’s Champion, Muhammad Zainun ‘Leomes’ who managed to clinch 8th placing in the world! Mechanical engineering student from UNITEN, Alhariz bin Ismail ‘Cigarette’ (23 year old) emerged as Silver Medallist in 1st Runner-up position, while Lee Chen Khong ‘[R|||B] Killer’ (25 year old) took home the Bronze medal.
In another casual tournament – the Go International E-sports Cup 2012 casual FIFA13 match gave other gamers a chance to compete for fun. First place and RM300 went to Abul Ikhwan Bin Abul Aun ‘Wan Cobra’ (24 years old – pictured left), second place and RM200 to Ahmad Tarmizi bin Adnan ‘Kondeng Molly’ (23 years old) and third place and RM100 to Liaw Way Gian ‘[R|||B] aRrOyOs’ (27 years old).
Tilu – popular jazz band
While the gamers battled for the top prize, young independent bands Windy Days, My Frenetic Flux, Pieremiddle, The Tick, The Fridays, Taysha’s Ink shared the concert stage with popular acts like Narmi, Tilu and Joan & Jesseltone featuring Jart Hassan and The Fieldplayers Horn Section Unit. Other entertainment included a multi-genre dance performance by the contestants of the Miss MalaysiaIndia Global 2012 and a flash-mob surprise by students from Kuala Lumpur Multimedia University. The entire day’s events attracted some 400 people between midday until sundown.
